Paladin Skill Specializations
The Paladin character is one of the Sentinel builds in Last Epoch. Paladins are a form of Mastery and can learn everything from the subclass. However, you still have the option of taking half the abilities from the other two options: Force Guard and Void Knight.
One of the strongest Paladins is one that doesn’t enter melee range if they can avoid it. Instead, they rely on ranged attacks like Javelin and Smite to damage from afar. This allows them a mix of physical and fire damage for different situations.

Caster Sentinel Passives
The core of the Paladin revolves around its Passive selections. You must always use the initial 20 points in the Sentinel base class in Last Epoch. From there, concentrate on full Paladin Mastery. After getting key Skills, dip for a short time into Force Guard for more physical damage and protection.
Many of the Passive bonuses are only in effect when wielding a shield. You may need to farm areas and dungeons like in Diablo 4. Make it your highest priority to always use a powerful shield. This might even include neglecting other equipment slots like body armor and helmets.

There are Void Knight Passives that can also be appealing to a Paladin in Last Epoch. Devouring Blade is a nice option as it increases damage for four seconds after making a kill. Simply spending 5 points to gain the Volatile Reversal skill can be useful. It is best to redistribute those needed points from Force Guard.
Paladin Skill Specializations
While you can utilize any learned skill, specializing brings in more power and versatility. You can have up to five specializations at a time. Holy Aura and Sigils of Hope will be the primary Paladin-specific spells. These are team buffs that are great when working with a Necromancer friend.
You will be mainly using two important Sentinel core skills: Javelin for damage, and Lunge as a means of escape. You will also pick up Smite by spending 20 points on Sentinel Passives.

While this is the final level 100 skill set, you will need to fill in gaps during the leveling process. Basic moves like Hammer Throw, Shield Rush, and Shield Throw can be used in the meantime. Unlike the class-changing NPC of Baldur’s Gate 3, you can freely respec'd at any time from Last Epoch’s menu.
This strong Paladin build truly shines in the end-game challenges of Last Epoch. Later difficulties can rival Nightmare mode in Diablo 4. Various attacks are learned even at a low level, but won’t fully come online until around level 80 or more. Make small adjustments along the way and prioritize the point allocations that feel most comfortable.
