It was our first time. The service was great. The oil was clean our food was fried well. If they can make my 85yr old grandma happy, then they are clearly doing something right. Our waiter was super nice and funny!
The food was cooked well and exactly as we asked. One thing to note is if you want salt and pepper on your fish be sure to tell them because otherwise it has literally no taste at all.The oysters are small but they have a good taste. The jumbo shrimp are good too.The baked potato was good. Hush puppies are Excellent!Note - The sweet tea is not sweet enough (if you're from the south).
Ordered lunch from Mayflower in Durham. It had been a while since I had last eaten here, not because it is bad, but because I don't get over to this side of town much. May I say I was not disappointed in the quality of the food and the portion sizes. The taste of the food was excellent. The service was also very good, staff was friendly and helpful. I will definitely try not to make it so long before I come back.

Reviews
Mayflower XVI Seafood Restaurant receives high praise for its excellent service, delicious fried and boiled seafood offerings, generous portion sizes, and friendly staff. Reviewers highlight the crispy yet non-oily dishes like broiled scallops and fisherman platter. The hush puppies are a standout favorite, while some suggest improvements in redecorating the interior. Despite occasional misses like over-fried shrimp and oysters or undercooked chicken, Mayflower XVI remains a popular choice for seafood lovers seeking quality meals.

OMG! So clean, excellent service, and HUGE portions! It was tasted so good and so fresh. I'll be driving in from Greenville because our Mayflower doesn't even come close. If you've never tried it, go. It is awesome!
The food was great as always. I wish that since the price has gone up, the amount of food didn't reduce. I got the fisherman platter an you get 1 fish, 1 devil crab, popcorn shrimp, 3 oysters, 3 scallops, hushpupies and baked potato. It would be nice if you could get more oysters and scallops. But in all it was great.
